We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Advisor who’s committed to high standards and continuous improvement. In this role, you’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to monitor programme quality, support audits, and ensure our processes and outcomes meet the expectations of key regulatory bodies.

This role sits at the heart of our quality team—supporting education delivery that’s both compliant and effective.

Job Description

The opportunity:
Are you passionate about ensuring educational excellence and compliance? We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Advisor to oversee and manage the quality assurance activities at an agreed Private Training Establishment (PTE) campus. In this role, you’ll ensure that the PTE meets New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and Workforce Development Council (WDC) requirements, playing a critical part in maintaining high standards in education and training.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee and manage quality assurance policies and practices to ensure compliance with NZQA and WDC standards.
  • Support staff in embedding quality assurance processes, implementing systems for continuous improvement, and self-assessment.
  • Conduct pre- and post-moderation planning activities, including training staff for effective implementation.
  • Collate assessment materials for pre- and post-moderation submissions as required.
  • Attend Managing Consistency Review events, analysing and collating relevant information to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Stay informed on changes in NZQA and Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) policies and procedures, identifying and addressing academic and vocational risks promptly.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you'll bring

  • A degree in Adult Education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Currently hold or are working towards unit standards 4098, 11551, and 11552 or equivalent.
  • Experience in educational quality assurance, moderation, and assessment.
  • Familiarity with educational and workplace training systems within the NZQA framework.
  • Proficient in using Excel or other analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience in managing stakeholders, expectations, and project or change management.
