Skills/ETCO is seeking a passionate and driven electrical tutor to join our team of certified electricians passing their industry knowledge to the next generation. Job Description
So, what is a normal day going to look like?
Course delivery, assessment, and development.
Deliver and assess ETCO approved courses in a block course and day release format.
Manage the delivery of Year 1 to Year 3 block courses, day releases and foundation courses.
Delivery of CPD Courses.
Support apprentices by providing pastoral care and encouragement.
Monitor student achievements and results, providing timely feedback to students.
Build strong working relationships with Learning Support Managers and Apprentice Mentors.
Desired Skills and Experience
Technical Competencies, Experience and Qualifications
NZ Electrical Registration ( Full Practicing License, Inspectors Licence or Electrical Engineering Degree or similar) is a must.
Extensive practical experience in the Electrical Industry
Proven working experience in Adult Tertiary Teaching or Training is desirable, but we can support and develop you in this area.
Excellent knowledge of learning theories and student engagement. Lesson and curriculum planning skills is a plus.
Prior people management or supervisory experience.
Proficient in Microsoft systems ( Outlook, Work, Powerpoint etc.)
Tutor Competency Framework & Development
Unit Standard 4098 – agree within one month of employment to enroll in the Unit Standard 4098 course with a view to complete and qualify within 6 months of employment.
Discuss personal development plan with the Learning Manager bi/annually.
